Criteria for Participation

This track is an exciting opportunity for students / researchers to showcase their scientific work only in various aspects of biotechnology.

Participants will create and present a visually appealing poster detailing their research projects, methodologies, results, and conclusions.

Maximum allowed number of presenters for each poster is 4 participants.
Registration
-
Poster presenters must be registered to attend the conference in person.

There is a place to upload your poster in the registration form. If your poster is not ready at the time you are registering for the conference, you can upload it later to sole@ceb-eg.com with your Email and confirmation number (which is Emailed to you after to you register).

Posters must be submitted in English, clearly illustrating the scientific methods and findings.

Posters must be uploaded to the registration site in PDF format and no larger than 15 MB.

​Registration deadline is 5th January 2025.
Poster Formatting Requirements
-
The size of the poster should be 1.20 meter high – 0.80 meter wide. All posters must be in “portrait” format.
-
Poster should have a clear message, a logical layout and be easy to comprehend for a non-expert.

Ensure that each of the sections (e.g., abstract, background, methods, results, conclusions and references) are easy to locate and that the figures are well described.

It is of high interest to have a large lettering for the poster's title, author and company; the font size of the title should be not less than 72 points.

Participants are required to prominently display SOLE logo at the top of their posters. Ensure that the logo is clearly visible and placed in a manner that complements the overall design of the poster.
Poster Review
-
Posters will be reviewed and evaluated by representatives of the scientific committee of SOLE and emails of acceptance / rejection will be sent at 15th January 2025.

Posters will be judged in three separate categories; undergraduate students, graduate students, and postdoctoral scientists (including postdoctoral fellows and academic / industrial research scientists).

Posters will be judged based on scientific impact, applicability of the project, clarity of presentation, and contribution of the author(s) to the overall project.
Criteria for Participation

This track focuses on business models and strategies for bringing the biotechnological ideas to market.
-
It is open for anyone interested to present his/her entrepreneurial ideas, which must be biotech-based business idea or startup concept.

Participants will create 10-min presentation detailing their business model including the the challenge and the idea to solve, market potential, feasibility, and strategies for commercialization.

Maximum allowed number of presenters for each idea is 3 participants.
Competition Process

Presenters must register to attend the conference in person.

We will review your idea in our selection process.

If you’re chosen, we will follow up with you with the next steps to make your pitch live on stage.

Presentations will be judged based on the creativity, viability, impact, and clarity of the business pitch.
Entrepreneurship
Bio Hackathon
Criteria for Participation
-
This track is bioinformatics competition among individuals to solve as many problems as possible through the 2 days using programming and data analysis.

It is open for students, professionals, or anyone with a passion for bioinformatics.

Knowledge of programming languages (Bash Scripting, R, and Python) and good command of bio informatics tools and soft-wares are required to ensure participants can effectively engage with the challenges.

Participants can join as an individual or Teams between 2 -4 members.
-
The competition will be located in halls with wireless connection to internet and in which the participants will be able to use their own laptops.
-
Participants will be exposed to challenges and problems ranging from intermediate to advanced levels .
